The confession that was not easy for me

19 May 2026

In my first year of trading, I was a genius. After a successful trade, I would draw arrows on the chart and think, "This is easy. Why do I even need all these stop-losses and take-profits?"

In my second year, I became a beggar.

If only you knew how many times my account went from +40% to -15% in a single evening. If only you knew how many times I looked at the profit, thought "just a little more"... and walked away into the red.

The worst part is—I knew I had to take profits. I read smart books. I agreed with every word. But when the terminal is open and the chart is going up, my hand just wouldn't press the "exit" button.

Greed. Fear of missing out. Emotions.
They run the show. And they empty the account.

What's the problem?

We traders love to analyze the market. We spend hours looking at charts, drawing levels, following the news. But we don't know how to analyze ourselves.

  • ✅ We know when to enter.
  • ❌ But we don't know when to exit with a profit.
  • ✅ We know how to calculate risk per trade.
  • ❌ But we don't know how to take profit in time.

The psychology is simple: "Now it's 10%. Tomorrow it'll be 30%." But tomorrow it turned out to be -30%. And we regret it again.

How I found the solution (by chance or by design)

One day, after another drawdown, I decided: enough. I created a simple spreadsheet, and in it I recorded:

  • How much I earned for the day (real or virtual)
  • What percentage of withdrawal I would choose (honestly, no cheating)
  • How much money I would withdraw.

And I forced myself to lock in that percentage every single day. Even if it was only 10%. Even if it "seemed too little."

After 2 weeks, I noticed something strange: I started feeling calmer about the market. After a month, my trades stopped ending in the red. After two months... I was back in the black.

What changed? Only my habit. I stopped being greedy. I stopped waiting for "just a little more." I started locking in profits—and the market stopped punishing me for my greed.

My Trader Calendar – Your Personal Coach

I turned that idea into a proper tool. Not Excel, but a full-featured web calendar with a calculator. Here's how it works.

How to use it (5-minute instruction)

Step 1. Enter your income
Each day, enter the amount you earned in the market (or could have earned—for practice).

Step 2. Click "% to withdraw"
The system randomly selects a percentage from 10% to 100% (in steps of 10%).

Step 3. Get the amount
The calendar shows: "You are locking in 40% of 500 — you withdraw 200. That means 300 remains."

Step 4. Data is saved
Statistics accumulate. You see:

  • How much money you could have withdrawn for the month
  • What percentage you locked in on average
  • Your best day for withdrawals
  • How many days you traded and how many days you locked in a percentage.

Over time, you develop a reflex: profit received → percentage locked in → withdrawn (real or on paper). Emotions stop getting in the way.

Why random percentage is not a bug, but a feature?

You might ask: "Why random? I want to choose the percentage myself."

I made it random on purpose, from 10% to 100%. Here's why:

  • If I always set 10%, I would never train myself to take more.
  • If I always set 100%, I would punish myself and stop using the calendar.
  • Randomness prepares me for reality: the market is unpredictable. Sometimes it gives a lot, sometimes a little. But you always lock in what you are given.

It's like a game. You press a button—and you get an honest percentage. You can't cheat. You can't say, "Oh, this time I would have left it all in the trade." No. You train discipline on honest terms.

The downsides (honestly, without sugar-coating)

I won't lie. This tool is not for everyone.

DownsideWhy it might not suit you
⏳ Requires daily fillingMiss a day — break the chain. You need a habit, and not everyone develops one
🎲 Random percentage can be annoyingSome people like full control. Randomness frustrates you if you don't accept the rules of the game
💰 Might seem "not serious""A calendar? That's not real trading" — yes, it's a self-coaching tool, not a trading robot
🧘♂️ Doesn't replace full psychotherapyIf you have serious emotional swings, a calendar alone is not enough
🔓 After 16 days – paidAccess is free at first. Then you need a subscription from €5. That's the minimum price for your discipline

Who this is definitely for

  • Beginner traders who blow their accounts because of greed.
  • Experienced traders who want to refine their discipline.
  • Those who keep a trading journal but don't analyze their psychology.
  • Those willing to spend 2–3 minutes a day on self-reflection.

Who this is NOT for:

  • Those looking for a magic pill (it doesn't exist).
  • Those not ready to change their habits.
  • Those who think discipline is a weakness.

My advice

Try the calendar for 14 days in a row. Don't skip a single day. Even if you earned $0 — open the calendar to develop the reflex.

After 2 weeks, answer yourself honestly:

  • Do I feel calmer about the market?
  • Have I stopped waiting for "just a little more"?
  • Has my performance improved?

If yes — the calendar works. Keep going. If not — no big deal. You only lost two weeks and a few minutes a day. But you gained an understanding: your main problem is not the market. Your problem is yourself.

And when you realize that — 50% of success is already in your pocket.

👉 Start filling the calendar right now

It's free for the first 15 days. And after that, it costs the price of a few cups of coffee per month. You drink your coffee in 10 minutes. But the habit of locking in profits stays with you forever.
